Loved your blog, Paul. Came across it then spent all day Sunday reading it! In between putting the Christmas lights on the tree in the garden. Know your problems, have had an RV for 15 years. Just finished a leak problem myself. The dealer wanted to do the job for £2000. Prefer France! Always the Sun down South! :D

Admin reply: HI Brian Thanks for reading the blog and your kind comments, yep South of France is much better! Keep fixing those leaks lol cheers Paul

hi, just a thought, if your stuck for parking, i have been going to brittania road, waltham cross, delivering to a fruit veg company called reynolds, you can see them from m25, anyway its quite busy and a bit industrial, but ive seen a couple of stealth campers parked up for sure, its safe but may be a bit to noisey, its got two catering vans that use it and they both do great breakfasts, they get there early 4.30 ish, ps dont park where the empty bread cases are stacked coz thats their pitches lol

Admin reply: Hi Darrell

I know Britania Road really well!! Ive got a client down there Kitchens r us and thats where the Kontiki was MOT'd in that road, and yeh you are not wrong it is busy! Thank for the tip never thought of parking there before, cheers and I hope all is well with you

Paul

Hi Paul.... I found your blog by accident, and I'm really glad I did! Me an 'er have been thinking about going on the road for some time, and the opportunity popped up out of nowhere a couple of months ago! We did some homework and decided on a Kon Tiki, which we have now bought. We expect to invade France round about mid Jan, before they sober up enough to stop us!
Your blog gave us the encouragement we needed, aswell as a few laughs! We know many of the Welsh places you stayed, we've scooped a few in Caffi Roc!!

Anyway, We'll set up some sort of blog as we go, maybe we'll end up with a KonTiki blog community? Then we could elect a council, make rules, levy a tax to pay for it....... Gotta go, Matron's here with my pills..... All the Best, and keep up the blog.....
A+A.

Admin reply: Hi Adrian

I think you will have a great time, I really wanted to do something there myself at the beginning of this year but just ran out of money, I'm glad you like the blog.Blimmey I can't believe you know Caffi Roc! you like cheesy music as well ! Keep me informed how you are getting on, would be good to find out. Thanks for leaving a message Paul

Hi Paul
Great reading, passed it on to a couple of m8s in work.
I have a 6 berth Bessacarr, just over 7mts so a bit more conspicious than the Kontiki. Sod em taking some of your experiences to not offend people.
Spent 20 years driving all over Europe in all seasons in a coach, had a hotel & meals at end of day though. So your hints & my own extensive knowledge of Europe makes me want to begin now & not March/April :!cry: Hope you continue keeping us all updated. Good Luck.

Denny ;)

Admin reply: Hi Denny

I'll keep you all updated dont worry, I think you will have a great time mate, especially with your knowledge! Keep me informed cheers Paul

After countless views of other peoples campervans and being somewhat disillusioned at what ive seen,i then came across your Kontiki and a subsequent telephone conversation with yourself took me to your blog.Having gone through a similar breakup albeit back in the year 2000,i can totally relate to every emotion you have gone through whilst trying to deal with your inner self.Unless you have gone through it,you will never know the pain.Anyway,i hope the future holds great things for you and yours and i promise to look after your Kontiki motorhome. Thanks for the inspiration and also the opportunity to experience a life on the road,Regards,Dean ;)

Admin reply: Cheers Dean Enjoy the Kontiki mate I know you will !
